Americans defend cannabis legalization program through Facebook

A deputy from Arizona (USA) accepted an attempt to discredit the cannabis legalization program, but instead of public support, he received indignation that unfolded on social networks. Due to virtual protests, the servant of the people was soon forced to withdraw the application. Thus, after a while, Arizona residents will be able to buy both marijuana seeds and finished products.

Republican Party member Jay Lawrence has filed the HCR 2019 bill, which would have banned doctors from recommending cannabis to their patients if passed. According to statistics, 90% of patients draw up a medical cannabis card precisely according to the prescription of homeopaths and naturopaths.

According to current legislation, the map needs to be updated annually, while Lawrence proposed to reduce the interval to 6 months. Activists saw in these intentions the interest of the authorities, since the frequent renewal of the document would entail additional financial costs for the population.

A few minutes after the publication of the high-profile bill, the phone of the deputy's office was torn with calls from activists and ordinary citizens.

MP's point of view

Lawrence has dismissed the public's thoughts about self-interest and fends off the accusations with the wide availability of the cannabis card. But during a conversation with the population, the people's choice found out that naturopaths, unlike representatives of other areas, follow the letter of the law.

The residents of Arizona once again proved the "power of Facebook" and clearly demonstrated how ordinary citizens can influence politicians. At the same time, it is worth noting the courage of Jay Lawrence, who was not afraid to make contact with people in order to hear the opinion of the people firsthand. This principle is the main secret of the effectiveness of the democratic system.

Many are probably wondering: how did the social network influence the decision of the conservative? It all started with the fact that one activist called on Internet users to hold a rally in front of the local Capitol building. Within hours, the post received over a thousand "likes" and hundreds of comments.

Despite the rejection of the unsuccessful idea, the public will still come out to the rally so that other officials no longer have thoughts about infringing on the cannabis legalization program.

It is noteworthy that the legalization of cannabis did not affect the demand for marijuana seeds, since this product has unique qualities that are not characteristic of the plant.
