Marijuana legalized in 18 countries

Currently, hemp products are freely available in 18 countries. In this regard, Uruguay has succeeded, which is the only country in South America where it is possible to grow and sell marijuana. Not everyone can buy the product - you need to show a special card to get it. In other Latin American countries, these activities are prohibited by law, but in some of them, the possession of weed is not prosecuted by law. According to the UN, the number of cannabis users in Central and South America reaches 8 million people. The European Union and the USA are not so liberal, but there are still some positive trends. In November 2013, cannabis was legalized in three American states at once, but with some restrictions. By law, in Colorado, one person over the age of 21 can buy no more than 28 grams of cannabis, and in the states of Massachusetts and Washington, the limit is 7 grams. The British authorities drew attention to the positive qualities of hemp - they allowed one large company to grow varieties with the aim of their further participation in research. To date, this action has yielded a positive result - the British have started the production of a throat spray, which has been licensed in France. Scientists do not see anything supernatural in such trends, because the practice of using hemp for medical purposes was born before our era. The authorities of Western countries have no choice but to partially legalize cannabis, since it helps in the treatment of many types of diseases. For example, scientists have established that the plant reduces pain in people with cancer. Officials are restrained only by the fact that marijuana does not have significant advantages over traditional drugs. Therefore, hemp therapy is possible only if some drugs cause allergic reactions in the patient. World experts ask only one question: will humanity be able to make such a responsible step as switching to cannabis? Perhaps its use is a more reasonable step than the use of drugs containing chemical substances.
