How to grow Sativa: rules and instructions
Sativa is a larger variety compared to Indica and Ruderalis, some bushes grow up to 6 meters. Such sizes of plants are due to their origin in equatorial regions and places with reduced daylight hours. Therefore, sativa requires less light than other varieties, and on the bush, the buds ripen at the same time. The plant blooms for 16 weeks, but the long wait rewards growers with high THC and low CBD. Gardeners can get up to 1.5 kg of cones from one bush.
Sativa Cultivation Rules
To obtain the expected result, a number of rules must be observed. First of all, take care of proper watering and feeding. The plant needs to be watered several times a day, and nutrients should be added in portions in medium doses.
Plant height control
The light source should be as close to natural as possible so as not to cause a thermal burn. Sativa plants require special care when entering the flowering phase. To avoid overgrowth of bushes, transplant them into smaller pots - up to 40 liters.
Temperature control
Under natural conditions, the plant is not afraid of rising temperatures, but does not tolerate the cold season. You can plant cannabis outdoors during the period when nighttime temperatures do not fall below 18 ° C. The optimal range of daytime temperatures for a good harvest is from +24 to +28 °C. Some sativas are suitable for cultivation at temperatures of 28-35°C, and some varieties are easily grown in regions with 40-45°C.
Humidity parameters
The lush structure of the bush creates a favorable environment for the development of mold, so the grower must control the level of humidity. The optimal range of this parameter is 55-65%. When the harvest approaches, the humidity should be reduced to 40% so that mold does not appear on the plant. In the most lush areas, remove leaves for good air circulation, and with high humidity, you can add baking soda and cinnamon to the soil.
Lighting mode
Experienced cannabis growers recommend LED phytolamps with a power of more than 400 watts per unit area. At the primary stage, the 20/4 mode must be observed, and after flowering begins, the daylight hours are reduced to 12 hours. A month before the collection, it will be already 8 hours.
On the open ground, daylight hours should be at least 10 hours, provided there are no shadows.
