The US is considering a project to expand medical marijuana.
Representative Count Blumenauer and members of the congress presented the new law "Veterans also have access", about helping veterans of their country to use medical marijuana, where it is legal. The count stated that, "We must allow veterans to survive and prosper, including if they are helped by medical marijuana, and not be considered criminals for this. We should be ashamed of this."
The draft law allows injured veterans with post-traumatic stress and with craniocerebral injuries and other disorders to use medical marijuana.
In 2011, the Veterans Affairs Health Policy banned the use of medical marijuana, because marijuana may not be used for medical purposes. However, politicians, in addition to all their discretion, forbade doctors to dispense medical marijuana or write prescriptions for their patients.
In fact, more than a million veterans in the United States are at risk of becoming homeless due to a lack of living resources, they cannot even afford to pay for the medical services of private doctors in order to ensure and satisfy their health in medical care.
Michael Lyzewski, director of government relations for Americans for Safe Access to Medical Marijuana, stated that, "More than a million Americans suffer from chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder, but our veterans are even more vulnerable to the negative impact of these conditions, and yet we are not him with the same level of attention" and also "Veterans must be provided with all the conditions that we provide to other residents of the country, especially where medical marijuana treatment is necessary."
Medical cannabis representative Michael Kravitz said, "In the states of America, veterans deserve the best medical care. We trust our doctors to prescribe morphine and we should also trust them to properly prescribe cannabis."
"The men and women who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq have made tremendous sacrifices for our country," said Dan Riefel, director of federal policy for the Marijuana Project. "They deserve every option for treating wounds, both visible and hidden. If doctors are confident that medical marijuana will improve the quality of life of patients, they should be able to recommend it in their states where it is legal."
Researchers have received approval for research on medical marijuana, on traumatic stress disorders (TSD). However, the researchers also encountered problems, including at the University of Mississippi, the only supplier, which stated that it was unable to provide the required strains. All these studies, published in the American magazine last year, found that in states that have passed laws on the use of medical marijuana, US representatives are considering a project to expand medical marijuana for veterans.
"there was a significant decrease in suicides.
