The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will propose to legalize the cultivation of kono
A draft law has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, removing a number of restrictions on the cultivation of hemp for the production of medicines. The initiative belongs to MP Oleg Musiy. In order to attract the attention of society, the people's choice wanted to involve his colleagues in the development of the project, but many of them refused to co-author.
US and Canadian experience
The concept describes in detail the conditions for growing products and the requirements for agricultural companies. According to the project, every businessman who wants to establish the production of marijuana must obtain a license from the Cabinet of Ministers.
In an interview, the authors of the bill focus on the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers will not allow plantations to be built right on the street. Cannabis production must take place indoors, with modern technology and enhanced security.
BPP spokesman Borislav Rosenblatt said:
“All points require careful discussion with law enforcement agencies and businessmen. If production is properly organized, as is done in Canada and the United States, then the state will additionally receive more than one million dollars.
Hemp Business Prospects
Legalization or partial lifting of the ban on the cultivation of cannabis will improve the state of the pharmaceutical business. Oleg Musiy noted the following:
“Today, our enterprises buy raw materials in India, while we ourselves can eliminate the need for imported products. Most of the hemp medicines available in Ukrainian pharmacies are made on the basis of foreign materials. Loyalty to marijuana cultivation will not only improve the economic condition of the country, but also make drugs more affordable for patients.”
According to Ukrainian experts, marijuana is not the most effective medicine. But, in comparison with analogues, this product improves mood, relieves pain during migraines, tumors and contusions. Thus, hemp medicines can be used by military personnel who are in the hospital after injuries and wounds.
Before being considered in the Verkhovna Rada, the bill must pass the Verkhovna Rada committee with the participation of deputies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service, activists and public organizations. Oleg Musiy does not predict the exact timing.
