Kievans visited the first hemp fair in Ukraine

Ukrainians, who had already had enough of gastronomic exhibitions, alcohol stores and street food festivals, were waiting for something new and extraordinary in mid-October. For three days, a real hemp fair was launched on the territory of the ACCO International exhibition center!

Cannabis Festival: what, why and why?

This is a completely legal event: on one site, about thirty manufacturers dealing with technical and medical hemp presented their products. To date, 25,000 items of such products are produced in the world. These are clothes (and sometimes shoes) made from hemp fiber, nutritional supplements, cosmetics, drinks and medicines. This is due to the fact that European legislation allows the cultivation and processing of certain types of cannabis, as Lyudmila Rusalin, head of the Petrus-Alco company, reminded visitors of the Kyiv fair.

Guests of the festival (and over three days it was visited by about 2,500 people!) were able to join the theme to the fullest, tasting hemp threads for strength, tasting tinctures and even cannabis sweets. In addition, 24 lectures and presentations on the following topics were an important part of the event: hemp cultivation, European experience in its use and processing, the role of marijuana in the medical, technical and food industries. Among the speakers were representatives of the Institute of Bast Crops, which operates on the basis of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences. Television was also included - the NEWSONE channel was broadcasting directly from ACCO International.

The highlight of the fair - hemp tinctures

The most interesting among the guests was the stand with unusual alcoholic products: 100% legal tincture based on medical marijuana seeds. Anatoly Galischuk, a representative of the manufacturing company, told the audience what are the advantages of Amsterdam and Jamaica drinks and how they differ from each other. Thus, the Amsterdam tincture boasts a special refreshing aftertaste, which is provided by the tulip extract in the composition.

Since the fair aroused interest not only among growers and manufacturers of equipment for working with bast material, but also among ordinary Kyivans, the organizers decided not to stop there. The concept of a new hemp fair - with even more speakers, interesting products and fun photo zones - is already in the works!
